Ethel Segura-Durán
Ethel Segura-Durán is an architect from the University of Los Andes, with a Master’s degree in Government and a specialisation in Regional Development Planning and Administration. She is currently a PhD candidate in Development Planning at University College London (The Bartlett Development Planning Unit).
Her career combines research and practice in urban and regional planning, with a particular emphasis on metropolitan governance in Latin America. She has extensive experience in territorial planning and participatory processes, notably contributing to the formulation of Bogotá D.C.’s Land Use Plan (POT). In addition, she has led sustainable urban management initiatives for the University of Los Andes campus and its surrounding area within the historic centre of Bogotá.
She is currently a Lecturer on the Master’s Programme in Urban and Regional Planning at CIDER, Faculty of Social Sciences at University of Los Andes. She also participates as co-researcher with the EPIANDES research group in the Faculty of Medicine and is actively involved in interdisciplinary projects concerned with territorial planning, management, and governance
