This session will bring together researchers and practitioners working at the forefront of popular transportation electrification across different regions of the Global South.

Speakers include:

• Tom Courtright, University of Cape Town and Lubyanza Research Group — presenting on popular transport electrification and the Uber x GNPT Two- and Three-Wheeler Electrification explainer.
• Piyaphat Chaemchuen, Chulalongkorn University and PRISM’s Bangkok Living Lab — discussing the Bangkok Living Lab’s research on electrified popular transport charging infrastructure.
• Shantha Bloemen — sharing insights on introducing electric three-wheelers in rural and peri-urban areas.
