This session will explore the central research question of ‘How can transport systems be strengthened to adapt to and mitigate climate shocks through physical and collaborative solutions?’
The following researchers were selected through a competitive process to present their work on topics related to this central research question:
- Jacqueline Klopp – Missing Mobilities: The Popular Transport Gap in Climate Adaptation
- Muhammad Arsalan Khan Niazi – Decarbonizing Light Commercial Vehicles: A Logistical and Total Cost of Ownership Perspective
- Thaynara Silva – Strengthening French Railways Against Climate Shocks: a systemic framework to assess climate hazards and interdependencies
- Elise Miller-Hooks – A Risk Analysis Approach to Transportation Infrastructure Climate Protection Investment
The session is scheduled for Thursday, 22 May, from 15:30 to 17:00 and will be moderated by Olaf Merk, Senior Project Manager at the International Transport Forum.
The format will be as follows:
- Welcome and Introduction – 5 minutes
- Researcher Presentations – Four speakers, up to 10 minutes each (including transition time) – 45 minutes total
- Moderated Panel Discussion – 25 minutes
- Audience Q&A – 15 minutes
The session will be held in Room CCL – Hall 3 at Leipziger Messe GmbH (CCL).
