Launch of New Study on Informal and Shared Mobility in Southeast Asia

Dear colleagues in the VREF Community,
We are excited to announce a Research Forum on May 7th. The event will feature a presentation of the study “Informal and Shared Mobility – Status, Challenges, and Opportunities in Southeast Asia”, conducted by Saksith Chalermpong, Apiwat Ratanawaraha, and Yosuke Uchiyama of the Transportation Institute, Chulalongkorn University, in Bangkok, Thailand.
This research highlights the unique dynamics of the informal and shared mobility sector in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), with a particular focus on Southeast Asia. It explores both the persistent challenges and emerging opportunities for enhancing urban transport systems in the region. Following the presentation, a panel of senior researchers will offer their reflections and commentary.
This webinar is part of VREF’s broader Informal and Shared Mobility in Low and Middle-Income Countries (ISM) Program, which seeks to advance sustainability and equity in urban mobility through collaborative research and knowledge sharing.
